Stringybark Ecological developed a Roadside Environmental Management Plan for the Moree Plains Shire Council in northern NSW. The plan included a survey of a sample of roads in the Shire, identifying environmental assets, threats and management needs. We produced a report, a set of detailed road-by-road recommendations, a GIS layer and a set of guidelines for operational staff. We delivered a training program for managers and operational staff to explain the plan. We also developed signage for the Council to highlight significant roadside areas.
This project won the 2016 NSW Roadside Environmental Management Award
at the LGNSW Excellence in the Environment Awards!
