Ecological Restoration is a specialised form of revegetation that aims to restore a pre-existing vegetation community to a particular site. Restoration projects consider the factors that are stopping a site reverting to a natural condition and manages those factors. This usually includes revegetation, but is also likely to include weed management, nutrient management, erosion control and other elements. Ecological Restoration usually uses a higher species diversity than revegetation projects and plans the introduction of species over time (succession). The aim is to start a site on a ‘trajectory’ towards a desired ‘state’. Stringybark Ecological has extensive experience in ecological restoration, particularly in agricultural land in former woodland or forest sites. We can manage all aspects of a restoration project from design and implementation to maintenance and monitoring.
