We worked with the Border Rivers Gwydir Catchment Management Authority to develop a Seed Supply Strategy. The strategy looked at what was required to get sufficient high quality seed to revegetate 20ha of each of five Threatened Ecological Communities. The strategy covered

• restoration planning;
• calculation of seed quantities;
• identification of seed collections sites;
• recommendations for seed production areas; and
• capacity building recommendations for the seed industry.

The strategy was developed in 2009 and has since allowed a strong seed sector to develop in the region including skilled suppliers, seed handling infrastructure, seed storge facilities and a research program supporting collection, storage and germination.
