Bingara Fire Monitoring

After a hot November bushfire swept through semi-evergreen vine thicket on a Bingara property, we were called in to monitor the recovery. The owners plan to fence out the burnt area to allow the vegetation to recover without added pressure from grazing cattle. We set up six permanent monitoring plots covering burnt and unburnt areas and will closely follow the recovery over three years. Within 12 months we have seen a flush of ground cover plants and many of the vine thicket species are re-shooting.
