Stringybark Ecological worked in partnership with SMK Consultants and Border Rivers Gwydir CMA to develop sub-catchment management plans for both the Tycannah and Millie creek systems in northern NSW. Farmers in this area were having serious problems with erosion from creeks in floods. We looked at the complex interactions of floodplain management, cropping practices, native vegetation and weeds. We delivered a number of workshops, undertook individual site visits and produced a report with recommendations for action. The CMA was able to use this project to guide its local invstment program in these priority sub-catchments.
