Biodiversity Offsets

Stringybark Ecological’s David Carr and Paul Melehan are accredited Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM) providers and are accredited assessors under the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme, offering BAM Assessments for Development Applications and Stewardship Agreements.

On the rare occasions where a natural area of high conservation value must be destroyed or damaged for a development, an offset can help mitigate the impact on the environment. Offsets are usually areas of similar or higher environmental value, or are areas that can be restored to a better state.

Genuine offsets require careful assessment and planning, management, maintenance and monitoring to ensure they really do offset the environmental impact of a development. We can work with you to plan and implement a genuine offset.

Stringybark Ecological can manage offsets for mining, infrastructure construction, land development or agriculture.
